| TITLE: Laboratory
Technician
RESPONSIBLE TO: Technical Director
PURPOSE OF POSITION
To assure the timely and proper collection of samples; to
serve as laboratory custodian; and to assist with analysis
conducted in the wet chemistry laboratory.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- A thorough understanding and knowledge of AA&E’s
Standard Operating Procedures.
- Timely and accurate field collection of samples.
- Accurate and precise completion of the chain-of-custody,
sampling log, and laboratory reporting sheets associated
with each sample.
- Custodial responsibility for the appearance of the laboratories;
maintaining stock areas, wash laboratory glassware, inventory
and dispose of samples following analysis.
- Assist the Chief Analyst in the wet chemistry lab.
- Other duties as assigned.
RESULTS EXPECTED
- Timely and technically correct sample collection.
- Organized and precise completion of sampling documents.
- A neat and orderly laboratory.
AUTHORITY TARGET
- 100% for the collection of samples.
- 100% for sample documentation.
- 80% for laboratory custodial functions.
- 50% for wet chemistry laboratory.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to derive personal satisfaction from working
in a team environment.
- Commitment to the environmental field, interest in details,
and a desire to accept increasing responsibilities.
- Two years of experience in an environmental laboratory,
or a degree in biology/chemistry.

TITLE: Environmental Engineer
RESPONSIBLE TO: Technical Director
PURPOSE OF POSITION
To support the site assessment, permitting, and media sampling
functions of the company.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIE
- Interaction with clients to learn their objectives, to
create proposals based on those objectives, and to communicate
AA&E’s unique capabilities to those clients.
- Independent completion of site assessments in accordance
with ASTM standards
- Independent completion of permit applications within
the PA DEP's current regulatory framework.
- Oversight and hands-on collection of project field data.
- Other duties as assigned.
RESULTS EXPECTED
- Open and informational relationship with clients.
- Concise, organized, and well written proposals and consulting/permitting
reports.
- Independent research and the addition of new capabilities
to AA&E’s available services.
- Exceptional understanding and application of technical
principles and concepts.
AUTHORITY TARGET
- 75% for project proposals
- 90% for completion of consulting tasks assigned.
- 100% Accuracy of reports/reports, documentation of calculations,
and documentation of referenced material.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Commitment to the environmental field, interest in details,
and a desire to accept increasing responsibilities.
- Personally motivated self-starter and finisher with a
desire to build relationships, complete projects, and contribute
to team member capabilities. Must be able to derive personal
satisfaction from working in a team environment.
- A good understanding of basic PA DEP permits and the
permitting processes.
- Four years of experience in the environmental field.
